2026 BMW Championship: Tommy Fleetwood heads to East Lake following struggles in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS — Eighth in FedExCup points, Tommy Fleetwood entered the BMW Championship with little to gain other than momentum as he heads back to the site of his career breakthrough victory last summer. With a spot in the Tour Championship already secured making the stakes relatively low this week at Bellerive, Fleetwood’s 74-70 weekend rounds shouldn’t be too much of a cause for concern. But it did complete a full year of events without a second win for the 35-year-old Englishman, who missed just one cut in 2026 (at the PGA Championship at Aronimink) and is headed for his worst placement since a T-52 finish at the RBC Heritage in April. Is a repeat at East Lake possible? And, if not, when will win No. 2 be delivered? Oddsmakers seem confident, listing the reigning Tour Championship winner as the third favorite behind Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlory in Atlanta. It’s a distinction Fleetwood has not held since this time last year, where he entered East Lake on a heater — T-3 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship and T-4 at the BMW Championship.Despite a bit of a sideways performance in St. Louis where he double bogeyed the par-3 6th hole on both Saturday and Sunday, Fleetwood’s form in 2026 is pretty similar to where it was at that time — he was T-7 last week at TPC Southwind, coming on the heels of a T-4 finish at the Open in front of his hometown fans at Royal Birkdale. Both of those tournaments he steered clear of costly doubles, posting seven straight sub-70 rounds until a 72 on Sunday in Memphis.BMW Championship 2026: Final-round tee times, pairings and how to watchHere’s a look at tee times and how to watch the final round of the PGA Tour’s second playoff event, the BMW Championship.
