After one week of the CIAC boys soccer season, both the Class LL/L and M/S poll’s have changed significantly. There are four new teams in Class LL/L in No. 7 East Hartford, No. 8 Guilford, No. 9 Bethel and No. 10 Stamford. Those four have replaced Hall (previously ranked No. 3) after it suffered two straight losses to begin the season, formerly ranked No. 6 Farmington, No. 8 Simsbury and No. 9 Westhill.Class M/S saw three new teams in No. 5 RHAM, No. 8 Hand and No. 9 Cromwell. Dropping out was former No. 6 Somers, No. 9 Morgan, and No. 10 Old Saybrook. Another surprise was the rise of Glastonbury, which jumped from No. 5 to No. 2 after defeating both Middletown and Simsbury last week. The Guardians leaped over Greenwich, which fell one spot to No. 3 despite winning its lone game last week. Tolland retained all nine first-place votes in the Class M/S poll, while Staples added three first-place votes in the LL/L poll for a total of nine. The one remaining first-place vote in LL/L went to No. 4 Xavier. Class LL/L Boys Soccer Week 1 PollTeam (1st-place votes)RECPTSLAST1. STAPLES (9)1-0-09612. GLASTONBURY2-0-08053. GREENWICH2-0-07224.
