2026 MLB Draft Day 1 Tracker and Open Thread

By admin — In News — July 11, 2026

The 2026 MLB Draft is slated to begin in Philadelphia today at 1:00 pm, and it promises to be a landmark day for the Atlanta Braves. Coming off a disappointing 2025 campaign, Atlanta holds the ninth overall pick—their highest selection since 2019—along with an extra first-round pick at 26th overall, earned in part thanks to Drake Baldwin winning Rookie of the Year. Battery Power will provide wall-to-wall draft coverage over the next two days, and we’ll be tracking every selection from day one. This article will be updated as each pick is announced, so follow along, enjoy, and join us in the comments for discussion.
Tampa Bay Rays – Shortstop Grady Emerson, Fort Worth Christian High School (TX).
Athletics – Outfielder Drew Burress, Georgia Tech.
Atlanta Braves – Outfielder AJ Gracia, University of Virginia. The Braves are once again expected to allocate their money carefully in this draft, dipping slightly down the consensus boards to select a premier hitter with the upside to handle middle-infield duties at the next level. Gracia joins a system that is replenishing its position-player depth.
