3 former Patriots players work out for AFC team ahead of Week 4

   ​The Pittsburgh Steelers worked out several former members of the New England Patriots, including running back Terrell Jennings and linebackers Chad Muma and Marte Mapu.These moves were reported on the NFL’s transaction wire on Friday.Jennings was placed on injured reserve by the organization on August 13. Muma was cut by the Patriots on August 30 as they had to trim the roster down to 53 players. Mapu was traded to the Houston Texans after the team intended to waive him on April 7.Jennings suffered an undisclosed injury before the team’s preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts and was placed on season-ending injured reserve. The running back has also visited the Atlanta Falcons for a workout.All three players were once important depth pieces for the Patriots. Jennings, in particular, served as the No. 3 running back option behind Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson at one point, while Mapu was a rotational piece on defense. They are now working to land elsewhere with the season in full swing.
