We’re a couple of games into the NBA Summer League, and rookies, second-year players, and G League players are all trying to prove why they belong in the NBA. Several first-round picks have turned heads, while some lottery selections have shown exactly why they were drafted so high. While the media usually focuses on the players exceeding expectations, a few have struggled to live up to the hype. The former five-star recruit was selected with the No. 22 pick in last year’s draft.Powell has started four of Brooklyn’s five Summer League games. In those four starts, he’s averaged 22 minutes while making just 1 of his 28 field-goal attempts. He also hasn’t found any success from beyond the arc, going 0-for-14 from three.He hasn’t provided much defensively or on the glass. He scored zero points in his first game and three in his second.
