​Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: Brownsburg High School (IN) receiver Branden Sharpe has set a new record.In the game against Avon (IN) on Friday, Sept. 11, the four-star receiver broke the school’s all-time receiving yards record with a 21-yard touchdown reception in the back of the end zone. Entering the game, the senior had 2,635 receiving yards, and has had back-to-back 1,000-plus yard years as a sophomore and junior.His first-half touchdown gave Brownsburg a 14-0 lead. Last year, he set a pair of Class 6A championship game records by posting 151 receiving yards and returning a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown. In doing so, he helped Brownsburg win back-to-back titles, taking the 2025 championship 38-31.He has been a primary producer for the offense in both of the last two seasons, recording 1,143 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns on 59 receptions last year and 1,165 yards and seven touchdowns on 66 catches the year before. Sharpe has come out of the gate hot this year, catching 16 passes for 294 yards and four touchdowns in the first three games of the year, all of which were wins.Brownsburg has not lost since Oct. 18, 2024, and with a 28-0 lead in the second quarter at time of publication, the team is on track to keep that streak going.Sharpe, a 5-foot-9.5, 160-pound receiver, committed to Indiana over 21 other programs including Vanderbilt and Cincinnati, according to 247Sports. He was named to the ALL-USA Preseason Midwest Region, and has so far impressed, going head-to-head with five-star WR Monshun Sales and outplaying his future Indiana teammate. Sharpe has at least one touchdown in every game so far this season.That includes this game, given his first-quarter TD.
