While our Red Bulls are hard at work in Flachau preparing for the new season, we’re using the breaks between sessions to introduce the new faces on the team and give you a peek into their daily lives at the training camp. Today, Bartosz Mazurek takes the spotlight.
When asked who has been the most supportive veteran at camp so far, Bartosz replied that everyone on the team has been incredibly welcoming and friendly. He said it’s easy to settle in because the squad looks out for one another and fosters a warm, inclusive atmosphere from day one.
Reflecting on his first friendly match for the club, which was against Polish opponents, Bartosz explained that the level of opposition isn’t the main consideration for him. What mattered most was starting the campaign against a Polish side and reconnecting with a few old acquaintances from Poland. The sense of familiarity made the initiation even more enjoyable, and he appreciated the chance to catch up with familiar faces while introducing himself to new teammates.
Regarding his daily routine at the training camp outside of the hotel-based sessions, Bartosz described a packed schedule driven by two sessions per day. With limited free time, he prioritizes bonding with his teammates and getting to know everyone better. In the breaks between sessions, he often takes a nap to recharge, recognizing the demanding nature of the double-session days and the need to stay fresh for the next drill or tactical session.
As for his impressions of the Flachau area, Bartosz shared a very positive first impression. He found the surroundings—mountains and forests—absolutely stunning and said they contribute to a wonderful training environment. The group even had the chance to go swimming in the nearby water, which added a refreshing break to the intensive camp schedule and helped everyone reset before the next session.
The focus of the recent training blocks has been twofold: sharpening tactical awareness and elevating physical conditioning. Bartosz acknowledged that the training load has been more intense than what he was accustomed to back in Poland, making the workouts more challenging. Yet he emphasized that he’s adapting quickly and rising to the challenge, driven by his motivation to contribute to the team’s success and the collective goal of a strong season launch.
With each day in the camp, the Red Bulls’ newest member grows more integrated into the squad as the coaching staff continues to tailor drills to build on his strengths while addressing the more demanding aspects of the conditioning program. The combination of supportive teammates, a breathtaking training environment, and a carefully structured regimen is setting the stage for a productive preseason in Flachau.
