The Daytona News-Journal created its 105-man roster of all-time UCF greats, and five centers across Knights history have graced the All-FBS team since the program joined the FBS 30 years ago.Many talented centers have stepped foot on campus in Orlando. Some have made program history, putting UCF on the map, and have been drafted by the NFL, representing the Black and Gold.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe Knights’ All-FBS team is not limited to players who finished their collegiate careers in Orlando. Transfers and players who did not finish their career at UCF made the News-Journal’s 105-man roster.Tuesday’s list will focus on the five centers who made the News-Journal’s All-FBS team.Johnson started at center for UCF in the 2017 undefeated season and 2018. He earned back-to-back First-Team All-AAC selections, as he played a significant role in helping the Knights become one of the best offenses in the nation.Lorenti started at center for 44 games, protecting Daunte Culpepper during his tenure as the lead signal-caller. The Tennessee Titans signed Lorenti as an undrafted free agent in 2001, but waived him shortly after.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementIn the same offseason, Lorenti signed with the Miami Dolphins. He found a temporary home with the Houston Texans, staying with the organization for two seasons.Mabry started his college football career at Southwest Mississippi Community College from 1999 to 2000. He transferred to UCF, and spent his final two seasons in the black and gold as a starter from 2001 to 2002.The Southwest Mississippi transfer started 23 games for the Knights. Mabry was drafted in the seventh round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens.He couldn’t carve a career out in the NFL, but he found success in other professional football leagues. Mabry played the best football of his career in the Arena Football League, where he was Second-Team All-Arena in 2007 and an ArenaBowl championship the following season.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementGagné-Marcoux was first-team All-C-USA in 2005 and was picked in the first round of the 2006 Canadian Football League Draft. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats selected Gagné-Marcoux with the eighth overall pick and he spent three seasons with them.He signed with the Toronto Argonauts in 2010, and earned his first CFLPA All-Star appeareance. Gagné-Marcoux also won the Grey Cup championship in 2012 with the Argonauts.Lee played at UCF for two seasons before transferring to its conference rival Cincinnati.
