A notable player to wear No. 52 is former linebacker and current tight ends coach Abdul Hodge. Hodge had a standout career for Iowa from 2002-2005, earning first-team All-Big Ten selections in 2003 and 2004 while helping lead the Hawkeyes to 38 wins in that span.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementHahn was a standout player for Decorah High School, earning two all-state selections and helping the Vikings to 19 wins during his career, including a 10-1 mark and district title in his senior campaign 2024.Since most high school players in Iowa play on both sides of the ball, Hahn was forced to play on the defensive line as well, where he tallied 91.5 tackles (37.5 sacks in his senior season) and 11 sacks throughout his career.Hahn initially committed to Iowa Western Community College to continue his football career, but according to Hawkeye Report, a late phone call from assistant defensive line coach Jay Niemann gravitated him towards the Hawkeyes, where he would be a preferred walk-on.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement”I decided to join and I am grateful for this opportunity,” Hahn told Hawkeye Report.Don’t miss out on our Roundtable community and the latest news!
