Fight of the Night: Johnny Walker, Waldo Cortes Acosta ($100,000 each)Johnny Walker (24-10 MMA, 10-7 UFC) had a solid first round against Waldo Cortes Acosta (17-5 MMA, 10-5 UFC) thanks to some great leg kicks, but found himself in trouble in the second and on his back a bunch. In the third, though, just ahead of the halfway point, Walker hit Cortes Acosta with a glancing head kick, then clipped him with a spinning attack. Seconds later, Walker hit Cortes Acosta hard enough to take him off the feet and he had an upset right after that. Performance of the Night: Elijah Smith ($100,000)Elijah Smith (11-1 MMA, 4-0 UFC) went right after Davey Grant (16-9 MMA, 9-8 UFC) in their bantamweight fight on the main card, and when they both landed punches at the same time less than a minute in, Smith’s was harder. His follow-up a couple seconds later put Grant on the canvas, and two massive punches on the button ended Grant’s night right at 60 seconds. Performance of the Night: Thomas Petersen ($100,000)Thomas Petersen (12-5 MMA, 4-4 UFC) should have been done against Gabriel Lorenco (6-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) in the first round – and really, he should’ve been done twice. But he survived a disaster of a first frame for a second-round rally against an exhausted Lorenco, then finally put him away with 13 seconds left in the fight.Finish bonus: Nina Milosevic ($25,000)Nina Milosevic (10-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) was a huge favorite against Priscila Cachoeira (13-10 MMA, 5-10 UFC) and went straight after her in the opening round. She couldn’t get the stoppage in the first frame, but stayed after it in the middle frame to get her second straight UFC knockout. Finish bonus: Austin Bashi ($25,000)Austin Bashi (15-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) put a combination on Carlos Calderon (11-5 MMA, 0-1 UFC), then took him down with ease. As soon as Calderon turned his back, Bashi quickly had a rear-naked choke and a tap in just 67 seconds. The bout came together during fight week after Lucas Brennan dropped out against Bashi, who was the biggest favorite on the card.Finish bonus: Andre Petroski ($25,000)Andre Petroski (14-6 MMA, 9-5 UFC) wasn’t exactly counted out against 3-1 betting favorite Mantas Kondratavicius (9-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC), but even he got emotional after he pounded his way to a second-round TKO win. The victory snapped a three-fight skid for the middleweight. Finish bonus: Jose Souza ($25,000)Jose Souza (10-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) opened the card with a literal bang when he took out Jonny Parsons (9-4 MMA, 1-1 UFC) with a clean two-punch knockout.
