Fresh off hearing their names called in the 2026 NBA draft, Milwaukee Bucks rookies Brayden Burries and Nate Ament were warmly welcomed to town by throwing out the ceremonial first pitches for the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday. Wearing custom Brewers “City Connect” jerseys with their names and the No. 26 on the back to honor their draft year, Burries and Ament took the mound and delivered their pitches, with Burries admiring Ament’s strike afterward.
The Brewers cruised to a 6-2 victory behind another strong start from Jacob Misiorowski, who allowed one run and struck out eight over six innings. Milwaukee reached 50 wins on the season, becoming only the second team to do so.
Burries, the 10th overall pick, averaged 16.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.5 steals in 39 games last season at Arizona, earning first-team All-Big 12 honors and helping the Wildcats reach the Final Four for the first time since 2001. Ament, selected three spots later in the pick acquired in the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade, earned All-SEC second-team honors at Tennessee, averaging 16.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and one steal per game, and ranking 14th nationally in free throws with 196.
The two newcomers are expected to help usher in a new era in Milwaukee following Antetokounmpo’s departure. If their first impression at American Family Field is any indication, they will be embraced warmly by Bucks and Brewers fans alike next season.
