’Stinks At Taking Advantage’ — NFL Analyst Questions Tom Brady’s Role At Fox After QB Takes Blame For Raiders’ Struggles

Tom Brady’s career as a player ended after the 2022 season, leaving him as a future Hall of Famer with seven Super Bowl rings. After a year off, he shifted to the broadcast booth in 2024 as the lead color commentator for Fox Sports’ NFL broadcasts, a role he has held for two seasons while also pursuing new interests. One notable venture is his minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders.
The question many are asking: should Brady quit Fox and devote himself fully to the Raiders? The Fox job is highly lucrative, reportedly paying about $375 million over 10 years, but some believe Brady could be more valuable to the Raiders if he dedicated his time to them rather than to Fox.
Last week, Brady appeared on the Stick to Football podcast and didn’t hold back, criticizing his own team and admitting that the overhaul begins with him. In contrast, Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio has argued that Brady should turn the focus inward, question whether his involvement with Fox is hindering his impact on the Raiders, and commit more time to the team—especially with a young franchise quarterback on the roster who could benefit from the three-time MVP’s guidance.
Florio suggests that Brady’s Fox duties keep him from taking a hands-on role with the Raiders and from leveraging the inside information he gains from meetings to help the team on game day. He questioned Brady’s ability to translate that knowledge into practical help for the Raiders, noting that Brady did not perform well in that regard last year. Florio even implied that Brady’s public-facing work, such as optimizing search engine visibility, might further detract from his on-field usefulness to the Raiders.
