The Eagles won’t know their final rookie hierarchy until pads go on in a few weeks, but several first-year players already have clear paths to immediate roles on offense, defense, and special teams. Makai Lemon stands out with the most obvious offensive opportunity. With A.J. Brown traded to New England and DeVonta Smith stepping into the No. 1 receiver role, Philadelphia needs a rookie who can add explosiveness, separation, and yards-after-catch ability. Lemon’s draft status and skill set should give him every chance to contribute early, even with Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, Dontayvion Wicks, and Elijah Moore also vying for snaps.
Eli Stowers is another offensive rookie to watch. While Dallas Goedert remains the top tight end and Johnny Mundt provides a blocking presence, Stowers offers long-term receiving upside. If he can handle enough blocking and assignment work, he could carve out a role in two-tight-end packages and red-zone situations.
On the offensive line, Jake Majors, Hollin Pierce, Jaeden Roberts, Willie Lampkin, Myles Hinton, and Cameron Williams arrive in camp aiming for depth roles. Philadelphia rarely rushes young linemen unless necessary, but depth behind Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens, Tyler Steen, and Lane Johnson remains important.
Defensively, Drew Mukuba has the clearest rookie path. The Eagles’ secondary has been reshaped, and Mukuba’s range, instincts, and coverage versatility give him a chance to compete for meaningful safety snaps immediately. His progress could also help Vic Fangio keep Cooper DeJean in a flexible nickel role.
Linebackers Smael Mondon Jr. and Deontae Lawson enter a room with opportunity behind Zack Baun, Jihaad Campbell, and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. Their initial path may be on special teams, but both can quickly improve their standing through physical practice. Keyshawn James-Newby provides another developmental edge rusher, while Mac McWilliams adds cornerback depth in a crowded secondary.
The Eagles don’t need every rookie to start right away. The goal is for the class to strengthen the margins, push veterans, and create real competition. Training camp will determine which rookies are ready for more than developmental roles.
