Princess Kate, the Princess of Wales, mingled with Wimbledon crowds on Thursday, showing support for Britain’s players under the warm London sun. Wearing a blue trouser suit, the 44-year-old wife of Prince William watched Arthur Fery, one of the last British players left in the draw, in his early matches against Finnish qualifier Otto Virtanen on outside Court 18. Fery, a 23-year-old wildcard, won 5-7 7-6(3) 6-3 6-3. In a courtside interview, the delighted youngster admitted he might have felt more nervous if he’d realised royalty was in attendance. The princess then moved to Court One, accompanied by double Wimbledon champion Andy Murray, where Katie Swan faced 26th seed Madison Keys of the United States. A keen tennis fan and patron of the All England Club, the princess had earlier chatted with people queuing since the early hours and spoke with workers in the ticket office. Fery was one of four Britons in action on Thursday, alongside Swan, Jacob Fearnley and Jan Choinski. (Reporting by Shrivathsa Sridhar in London; Editing by Alison Williams)
