Officially announced by Olympique Lyonnais, Julien Duranville has joined the club from Borussia Dortmund for €5 million, with potential add-ons up to €3.5 million and a 20% share of any future capital gains. The Belgian winger, born in 2006 in Uccle and a product of the RSC Anderlecht academy, signed a five-year deal with Lyon, tying him to the club until 2031. Regarded as one of the standout talents of his generation, Duranville’s early promise faced a setback due to physical issues that limited his opportunities at Dortmund, where he made 27 appearances and recorded one goal and one assist. He did, however, make his Champions League debut and earn his first two caps for Belgium. On loan to FC Basel in the second half of the 2025-26 season, he regained playing time, featuring in 17 matches (starting 11), scoring two goals and adding one assist.
