This week, we asked Jaguars fans to predict who will lead the team in interceptions. Over a third of respondents selected fourth-year safety Antonio Johnson, who tied for the team lead in INTs last season with five (Devin Lloyd). Second-year pro Travis Hunter was a close second, with the recently extended Montaric “Buster” Brown not far behind.
“Definitely a little different for him this year, just knowing everything that he knows within the system,” defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile said on Day 4 of OTAs. “You see him helping the young guys, assisting Jalen Huskey and others in the room. He’s been a really good communicator. He’s done a good job in the meetings, and the cool thing about him is he’s had a lot on his plate—maybe more than some other guys—because Antonio plays both safety positions, nickel, and dime; he does a lot. So, while that can be hard to learn all of that, the silver lining is that you know the defense better than anybody. I think he’s at the point now where he can coach many of the techniques we’re asking the guys to play, which is cool.”
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Jaguars have +2700 odds to win the Super Bowl.
