According to Mundo Deportivo, the deal is nearly complete, with Ter Stegen expected to fly out late next week to finalize the transfer. Barcelona are anticipated to cover most of his salary for the 2026-27 season, though the exact figure has not been disclosed. Ter Stegen must also pass a medical after a prolonged spell on the sidelines, having undergone surgery earlier this year to address a serious hamstring injury that kept him out of World Cup 2026. The move would reunite Ter Stegen with former Girona boss Michel, who oversaw his loan spell at Girona last season. The arrangement is described as a straight loan with no purchase option.
