ARLINGTON, TEXAS – NOVEMBER 27: Patrick Mahomes #15 of the Kansas City Chiefs scrambles away from Donovan Ezeiruaku #41 of the Dallas Cowboys during the fourth quarter of the game at AT&T Stadium on November 27, 2025 in Arlington, Texas. This topic is timely since Dallas never really had a true “war daddy” after trading Micah Parsons to open the 2025 season. Last year, Jadeveon Clowney led the team with 8.5 sacks despite appearing in only 13 games. As of now, Clowney has not been re-signed.
That vacancy opened the door for a new sack leader in 2026, and you crowned Donovan Ezeiruaku as the top candidate with 41% of the vote. Rashan Gary received 21%, while rookie Malachi Lawrence earned 19%. Ezeiruaku tallied only two sacks in 2025, but his 36 quarterback pressures and a 28% pass-rush win rate indicate a strong Year 2 breakout potential. Gary is a sensible choice too, given his proven ability to flash the ability to get to the quarterback, even if he hasn’t been a chronic sack artist. If Lawrence emerges as the team’s sack leader as a rookie, it would be a hopeful sign that the Cowboys have found another disruptive force on defense.
Bonus question for today: aside from defensive tackles and outside linebackers, who will finish with the most sacks? DeMarvion Overshown? Caleb Downs? someone else? Share your thoughts in the comments. For all your NFL offseason betting needs, visit our partner FanDuel.
