OKC Thunder officially add 5 NBA players to roster

By admin — In News — July 3, 2026

Putting pen to paper, the Oklahoma City Thunder made five roster moves official on Friday as they prepare to play at least seven 2026 Summer League games in Utah and Las Vegas from July 4-19. The team officially signed Aday Mara and Bennett Stirtz to standard four-year rookie-scale contracts, adding Mara with the No. 12 pick and Stirtz with the No. 16 pick in a trade-up move.
About 15 minutes later, the Thunder also filled their three two-way spots, adding Brooks Barnhizer, Otega Oweh, and Josh Dix. Barnhizer is the lone returnee from last season, Oweh was selected with the No. 41 pick in the 2026 NBA draft, and Dix went undrafted. For two-way players, active eligibility is limited to 50 NBA regular-season games, and they’re ineligible for the playoffs. They’re expected to spend most of the upcoming year in the G League, though the Thunder can convert them to a standard roster spot at any point.
With these five signings official, the Thunder are ready to headline this year’s Summer League squad, led by Mara and Stirtz. The trio of two-way players will be next in line for attention, promising a couple of weeks of enjoyable, low-stress hoops. The Thunder’s PR releases confirm the signings of Mara and Stirtz to contracts and of Oweh, Barnhizer, and Dix to two-way deals.
