After opening their 2026 NBA Summer League slate with two dominant wins, the Golden State Warriors faced the Miami Heat on Monday. With Sunday’s win over the San Antonio Spurs, the Warriors rested four key contributors—Yaxel Lendeborg, LJ Cryer, Malevy Leons, and Will Richard—opening the door for fresh players to step up. Once again, three Warriors who carried the load were familiar presences. Following a productive performance against San Antonio, where he logged 12 points off the bench, Deivon Smith returned to the starting five and finished with 16 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and a steal. Chance McMillian added another solid outing, following his 12-point game versus the Spurs with 14 against Miami.
But once more, no one on Golden State’s roster stood out more than Lachlan Olbrich, who came off the bench to deliver a dominant performance, scoring 21 points on perfect 7-for-7 shooting while adding six rebounds, one assist, and one steal. Olbrich has shone in all three summer league appearances to date, posting averages of 13.3 points, five rebounds, and three assists off the bench after concluding the 2025-26 NBA season with the Chicago Bulls. If he sustains this level of play, he could earn a standard contract with Golden State or another team.
Golden State sits at 2-1 to start the summer and will return to action on July 9 against the Dallas Mavericks.
