4-Star Safety Jayden Anding Commits To LSU Tigers

By admin — In News — July 8, 2026

The suspense around LSU’s 2027 recruiting class intensified when four-star safety Jayden Anding publicly announced his commitment on Tuesday, aided by his nephew who helped deliver the message. The timing had become a bit tense after Anding had originally planned to commit earlier in July but chose to delay that decision. Following his pause, LSU added Greedy James to the safety group, which suggested the Tigers might shift focus away from Anding. Instead, LSU managed to secure both commitments, expanding their safety depth and keeping Anding in the fold.
Anding will join his brother Aiden, who is already on LSU’s roster as a cornerback. Aiden, however, will not play this season due to a torn Achilles, which means the brothers will share time on campus and could emerge as the next notable pair of LSU siblings who make a major impact for the program. Anding, a four-star safety, is ranked as the No. 311 player nationally, the No. 26 safety in the country, and the No. 11 player from Louisiana. While there will likely be other highly touted safeties in the future, Anding’s profile suggests he has the potential to rise beyond his already solid high school ranking.
Hailing from Ruston, Anding currently sits a bit on the lean side at 5-foot-10 and 165 pounds. That frame could fill out over time, potentially making him a versatile asset for Blake Baker’s defensive scheme. It will be interesting to monitor his development on campus and to see what specific role he carves out within the Tiger defense as he grows into college competition.
LSU now has 16 players signed in the 2027 class, with Anding’s addition helping to push the Tigers into the Top 10 nationally in recruiting rankings. This class already has 19 players from the previous year, and it will be instructive to observe how LSU balances continued in-house development with the strategic use of the transfer portal as Lane Kiffin and his staff navigate the evolving landscape of college football recruiting and roster management.
