District 10 swooped through another competitive softball season, capped by Sharon’s deep advance to the PIAA Class 3A championship game. The district’s strength was underscored by 20 players earning all-state honors from the Pennsylvania High School Softball Coaches Association, reflecting the depth of talent across the area.
Leading the charge was Sharon’s standout junior Maddy Vogan, who earned first-team recognition as a pitcher and also captured the title of Class 3A Player of the Year. Vogan’s exceptional performance helped propel Sharon and boosted the district’s profile as a powerhouse in Class 3A. The district boasted a robust contingent of eight first-team selections in 3A, including Oliva Schneider, Sharon’s shortstop, and Corry outfielder Mahra Goodwill, highlighting a formidable core across the category.
In the same year, McDowell’s first baseman Bella Zaczyk secured a first-team slot in Class 6A, signaling the reach of District 10 stalwarts beyond 3A. The district’s pride extended further with Harbor Creek’s own Kayla Bresee earning a first-team nod as catcher and Brooklynn Cipalla earning a first-team designation as outfielder in Class 4A, underscoring the district’s depth across classifications. Hailey Obenrader, the pitcher from Saegertown, and Haylee Farrell, the catcher from Seneca, were also selected as first-team reps in Class 2A, adding to the district’s glowing roster.
District 10’s influence didn’t stop at the top tier; the second-team selections reflected broad participation and leadership. The district placed 12 players on the second team, with a significant footprint in Class 2A. Among them were pitcher Angelina Eakman of Mercer and pitcher Jaidin Frayer of C o chranton, who joined third baseman Mallory Hammill of Seneca, shortstop Tori Obenrader of Saegertown, outfielder Avery Harlan of Wilmington, and utility player Jocelyn Jordan of Mercyhurst Prep in Class 2A. This ensemble demonstrated the district’s ability to develop multi-position threats and reliable contributors across the field.
The Class 1A second team featured Cambridge Springs duo Kayla Crawford (pitcher) and Jaydan Simmons (third base), while Class 3A saw Hickory’s AJ Jarzab honored as a second-team pitcher and Sharon’s Mya Bundrant recognized as a second-team first baseman. In addition, Harbor Creek’s Addison Lucas earned a spot on the Class 4A first team, while McDowell’s Mya Kaliszewski was named to the Class 6A first team, rounding out the District 10 all-state selections.
The breadth of talent across District 10 this season illustrates not only Sharon’s historic run but also the district’s overall depth, with players excelling in multiple roles—from pitching and catching to infield and outfield positions. The all-state honors serve as a testament to the commitment of coaches, players, families, and communities that support high school softball in this region.
