The countdown to the NFL Flag Championships begins July 11 at Jacksonville University, kicking off a series of Jaguars PREP activities that lead to 11 teams from the franchise competing in the third edition of the championship at the Droplight Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield, Indiana, July 23–26. Seven of those 11 teams are Jaguars Elite, who will face squads representing other NFL teams across ages from 8U through high school. The Jaguars Elite earned their spots by winning their divisions at the Jaguars NFL Flag Regional in March.
The Jaguars Elite 14U boys team enters as the defending champions after finishing 7-0 last year at the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, guided by NFL Flag Player of the Year Brysen Wright, a wide receiver/defensive back, and quarterback Dalton Motes. Brysen Wright, a member of the Jaguars Elite 14U, proudly sports the championship ring the team won at the NFL Flag Championships held at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Village in Canton, Ohio, during an NFL training camp session at the Miller Electric Center in Jacksonville.
The month-long program series aims to develop talent, broaden access, and elevate flag and tackle football pathways for student-athletes in North Florida and Southeast Georgia. More than 1,000 boys and girls are expected to participate, with former Jaguars players and other guests in attendance to show support. Jaguars PREP is dedicated to growing football across Northeast Florida by removing barriers to participation, promoting health and safety, building strong character, and enhancing opportunities and resources for youth and high school football players.
Among the activities is a major event at Jacksonville University from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., where 17 Northeast Florida girls’ high school teams will compete in round-robin play to determine a champion. The day will also feature a tug-of-war contest. The schedule includes opening remarks, round-robin games from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the tug-of-war from 4:15 to 5 p.m., and playoff games from 5 to 8 p.m.
Additionally, the Jaguars and the Global Leadership Academy will unveil a new football field at the ARTS campus on Lusso Lane in Jacksonville, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:50 a.m. The facility was funded in part by a $200,000 grant from the NFL Foundation. Following the ceremony, the inaugural youth football camp will take place, featuring around 120 youths from the school, cheered on by The Roar of the Jaguars.
The Jaguars and Baker’s Sporting Goods will host the annual High School Media Day at the Jags Miller Electric Center from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. High school football players will participate in NFL-style activities, including professional photoshoots similar to NFL Media Days and press conference interviews with credentialed media ahead of the upcoming season. Following the high school media day, additional efforts will focus on expanding visibility and SEO for broader reach.
