In a move that has surprised many observers, Bayern Munich is poised to offload midfielder Noël Aseko Nkili to Eintracht Frankfurt, according to Sport1. It had been anticipated that the former Hannover 96 loanee would compete for regular minutes at Bayern this season, but he apparently seeks a more secure and consistent role with Die Adler. The news states that Aseko Nkili is departing FC Bayern to join Eintracht Frankfurt, and Sport1 reports that the transfer is now complete. The 20-year-old had drawn interest from clubs in England and Spain in addition to Frankfurt, while AS Roma in Italy were unable to secure his signature. Ultimately, Aseko Nkili chose Eintracht Frankfurt mainly because of the prospect of more playing time. Berlin-born Aseko, who moved from Hertha Berlin’s youth ranks to Bayern Munich in 2022, also reportedly weighed the influence of coach Adi Hütter as a decisive factor in his decision.
For Bayern Munich, selling the promising midfielder could provide a welcome revenue boost in context. Frankfurt, under sporting director Markus Krösche, are paying a transfer fee estimated at between ten and twelve million euros. Aseko Nkili’s contract at Eintracht Frankfurt is set to run through 2030, with an option to extend by one additional year. The youngster’s move underscores a shift for Bayern in terms of squad planning and development, as they continue to navigate competitive demands and the need to integrate emerging talents into the first team or secure beneficial transfers that support the club’s broader strategy.
