The Indiana Fever may be receiving their brightest star back just when they need her most. Ahead of Wednesday night’s road game against the Los Angeles Sparks, Indiana released its official injury update, and the news is encouraging for Caitlin Clark. After sitting out the last two games with a lingering back issue, Clark is listed as probable to play.
This update offers a significant lift for a Fever squad trying to build momentum as it pushes to climb higher in the WNBA standings. While Clark appears likely to return, Indiana continues to monitor another key starter ahead of the nationally televised matchup. The Fever announced on Tuesday that Clark is probable for the game due to a back injury. She has not played since Indiana’s June 24 loss to the Phoenix Mercury, missing the previous two games while continuing to recover. Even with her absence, Indiana remained competitive thanks to strong contributions from Kelsey Mitchell, Sophie Cunningham, and the rest of the roster.
Now, all signs point to Clark making her return against Los Angeles. The 2026 All-Star starter has been one of the league’s most productive players this season, averaging 21.2 points, 8.2 assists, and 4.0 rebounds through 17 games. She also remains among the league leaders in assists, continuing to drive Indiana’s offense as its primary catalyst.
If she is officially cleared before tip-off, the Fever will welcome back one of the NBA’s most impactful players. While Clark seems close to returning, Indiana’s injury report included a less hopeful update on fellow All-Star Aliyah Boston. Boston is listed as questionable with a right lower leg injury. The former No. 1 overall pick has been a dominant presence in the paint this season, contributing scoring, rebounding, and interior defense while forming one of the WNBA’s premier duos with Clark. If Boston cannot play, Indiana would lose a key frontcourt piece against a Sparks lineup anchored by Cameron Brink and Azurá Stevens. Her status will likely be determined closer to game time.
Indiana enters Wednesday’s contest with a 12-8 record and a real opportunity to strengthen its position in the playoff race. The Sparks sit at 8-11 and will be looking to gain ground in the Western Conference behind stars Kelsey Plum and Brink. Getting Clark back would significantly elevate Indiana’s ceiling on offense. Her ability to create scoring chances for teammates and to stretch defenses with her shooting has transformed the Fever whenever she has been on the floor. If she’s cleared, she could provide a major spark as Indiana attempts to extend its momentum against a Western Conference rival.
