Broncos Wire’s 91-man offseason roster series continues today with a closer look at fifth-year defensive lineman Jordan Jackson, No. 94, tracing his journey from college to the NFL and what it could mean for Denver’s depth along the defensive line.
Before the Broncos: Jackson stands 6-4 and weighs 294 pounds. He came to the NFL as a sixth-round pick (No. 194 overall) in the 2022 draft, selected by the New Orleans Saints out of Colorado’s Air Force Academy. Notably, Jackson was the only service academy graduate chosen in the 2022 draft. His first NFL season with the Saints was spent entirely on the practice squad, where he spent all of his time during his rookie year.
Broncos tenure: Jackson’s stint with the Saints lasted just one season before he was released and entered free agency. Denver claimed him ahead of the 2023 season, but he again spent the year on the Broncos’ practice squad. The 2024 season saw Jackson active for all 17 games, and he contributed with one fumble forced and 17 total tackles (four solo, 13 assisted), including one tackle for loss and one sack. His playing time diminished in 2025, as he dressed for only five games and totaled seven tackles (three solo, four assisted). Before the 2026 campaign, Denver placed Jackson on a one-year exclusive rights free agency tender, signaling the team’s intention to keep him around rather than letting him walk in free agency.
Chances to make the 53-man roster: Jackson remains on the roster bubble. With the departure of star lineman John Franklin-Myers in free agency, the Broncos face a sizable hole along the defensive line, and a number of players are positioned to compete for the starting role. Jackson will contend for meaningful snaps against Eyioma Uwazurike, Sai’vion Jones, 2026 draftee Tyler Onyedim, and veteran Matt Henningsen. The competition at defensive line is among the most critical battles to watch as the 2026 season approaches, and in Broncos Wire’s early 53-man roster projection, Jackson is highlighted as a difficult cut in what is otherwise a talented group.
