Atlanta Dream guard Rhyne Howard has earned a WNBA All-Star nod for the fourth time in five seasons in the league. A former Kentucky Wildcat standout, Howard is averaging 18.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 2.5 steals per game this season, and she sits second in the league with 3.4 made triples per game. This season Howard also set a league record by becoming the fastest player to reach 400 career 3-pointers, doing so in 147 games, surpassing Sabrina Ionescu, who accomplished the milestone in 151 games.
Howard will be in Chicago for the All-Star weekend, joined by teammates Angel Reese and Allisha Gray. This marks the fifth time in Atlanta Dream history that the team has three players selected as All-Stars, with all three coming off the bench in the exhibition game.
The 2022 draft saw Howard go No. 1 overall to the Dream after an illustrious collegiate career at Kentucky. She claimed WNBA Rookie of the Year honors and was named an All-Star in her debut season, with the lone year she missed earning an All-Star nod previously being 2024.
During her time at Kentucky, Howard was a three-time First-Team All-American and a two-time SEC Player of the Year, underscoring a standout college career that translated into early professional success. As she continues to build her professional resume, Howard remains a driving force for the Dream and a prominent figure in the league.
