Heading to France vs. Morocco? Here’s the Gillette Stadium forecast

By admin — In News — July 8, 2026

On Thursday, July 9, New England will host the tournament’s final World Cup match. The French men’s national team is scheduled to face Morocco’s men’s squad inside Foxboro’s Gillette Stadium to decide the winner of the first quarterfinal in this Round of 16. You can watch the game at the PVD FanZone, which remains open through the final match of the international tournament; still, there’s nothing quite like experiencing a World Cup match live and in person.
Here’s what you should know about the weather for Thursday’s game. The National Weather Service released its five-day forecast beginning July 8, 2026. National Weather Service meteorologist Caitlyn Mensch said the Foxboro area will see temperatures in the mid-to-upper 80s, but it will feel like the low 90s to those on the ground on Thursday, July 9. She added that southwest winds are expected, with gusts up to 20 miles per hour, which should not pose a major issue with high winds.
The forecaster discussion notes that a warm, humid air mass combined with a weak disturbance entering from the Ohio Valley will bring a risk of scattered showers and thunderstorms mainly across portions of Southern New England later Thursday into Thursday night. There is a chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms on game day; however, Mensch indicated that if those weather events do occur, they would likely develop after 7 p.m. or 8 p.m. The match is scheduled to kick off at 4 p.m. ET in Foxboro, Massachusetts.
