Report: Bayern Munich in talks for 16-year-old Czech starlet Matouš Srb

Bayern Munich has made relatively few youth transfers this summer, despite a flurry of activity at the top of the club. The Bavarians have brought in several very young talents, but thus far only two external U-17 and older signings have been completed in the 2026 window: Matteo Maric, 16, and Kemi Seudie, 15. Both are attacking midfielders, and their arrivals have been framed by a clear objective: to attract the best talent available for the club’s future, rather than to fill immediate gaps.
In that context, Czech outlet Infotbal, as cited by @iMiaSanMia, reports that Bayern are targeting another forward and have begun discussions with Slavia Prague about signing Czech Republic U17 prospect Matouš Srb. Srb is 16 years old, plays as an attacking midfielder or winger, and is valued in the region of €1 million, potentially with add-ons. Slavia Prague has been offering Srb a new contract, but the youngster appears keen to move. Srb has drawn widespread interest and is regarded as one of the standout young talents in the Czech Republic.
The U-17s—and arguably the U-19s as well—could benefit from adding another forward, given that the current squad lists only five forwards. Srb is highly rated in his home country, which makes this an appealing prospect for Bayern, even if the transfer fee is substantial by academy standards. Bayern reportedly paid a similar amount a few years ago for Noël Aséko Nkili when he was at a comparable age, suggesting the club is willing to invest for potential upside. If Srb is genuinely eager to move abroad, Bayern’s offer could well be more attractive than what Slavia Prague can provide.
The prospect of a Czech player joining Bayern, even at the academy level, is noteworthy. Historically, Bayern have signed relatively few Czech players. Yet, even as questions arise about how another attacking midfielder would fit into Bayern’s evolving squads, the potential move adds an intriguing dimension to the club’s youth strategy. The coming weeks will reveal whether Bayern can secure Srb’s signature and how he might integrate into their development pipeline.
