Compounding the concern are persistent rumors about a potential Jonathan Taylor trade, a development that would only add another layer of uncertainty. Wanting another explosive start and a strong finish becomes far more precarious when you’re staring down that kind of potential reality. If Taylor is dealt, or if Jones, Pierce, or both begin the season sidelined, nerves will spike to a fever pitch.
Even with time still on the calendar before the regular season, the clock is ticking as preseason activities begin to wind down.
