New Mexico State unveiled its first Adidas uniform with a grand, showy launch, signaling a new era in the Aggies’ apparel lineup. While the university plans to promote its additional uniforms with similar fanfare, the announcements may not generate the same level of anticipation as the initial reveal.
Several NM State players leaked images of the road white and home crimson uniforms on social media. The most prominent leak came from wide receiver Brodie Malone-Bradford, who is expected to be one of the Aggies’ top pass-catchers after a promising freshman season. Malone-Bradford posted a now-deleted video on his Instagram story showing the fresh white uniform. The jersey features bold “NM STATE” lettering and numbers in crimson with a black outline on the front. The design also includes numbers at the top of the shoulder pads and three side stripes, with the outer stripes in black and the middle stripe in crimson. The pants are white and display the Aggies’ white Script State Mark logo.
Malone-Bradford’s post also offered a glimpse of the new crimson uniform, worn by freshman wide receiver JaDarius Sanders. That crimson kit uses a white Script State Mark logo on the front in place of a wordmark, echoing NM State’s crimson uniform from Under Armour last season. It also presents white numbers on the front and atop the shoulder pads with a black outline, while the shoulder pads’ sides feature two black stripes and one white stripe that mirror the white uniform’s styling.
Quarterback Kalani McLeod also shared an image of himself in the new attire, giving fans a clearer look at the crimson uniforms paired with white pants and NM State’s new Inn of the Mountain Gods patch sponsor. A selfie posted by McLeod on Instagram Story showed the Aggies’ crimson kit with the Inn of the Mountain Gods sponsorship patch.
NM State’s other new black uniform was announced on July 1, the same day Adidas’ contract officially began. The black kit closely resembles the crimson design, using the same font for the NM State wordmark and numbers, both in white, with no stripes or numbers on the shoulder pads.
Reaction to the new black uniform was mixed. Some fans praised the look, while others questioned whether the crimson-outlined numbers and collarbone and sleeve accents were truly crimson or not. One commenter even suggested the shade of red appeared to be more “Lobo-y”—a nod to rival New Mexico’s cherry hue.
Across the updates, all three uniforms feature a noticeably larger Conference USA patch, reflecting the league’s alternate logo and creating a more prominent branding presence on the kits.
