Olivia Miles injury update: Lynx point guard to miss second consecutive game

UNCASVILLE, Conn. — Minnesota Lynx point guard Olivia Miles will be sidelined for a second straight game due to a right calf injury as the team visits the Connecticut Sun at Mohegan Sun Arena for a rematch shortly after meeting earlier this week. Miles last appeared for the Lynx in their July 3 defeat to the New York Liberty, exiting the game early because of cramps.
Miles, widely considered a front-runner for Rookie of the Year, has started 20 contests for the league-leading Lynx. She is averaging 18.5 points, 5.7 assists and 4.8 rebounds in 30.5 minutes per game. A standout from Texas Christian University, she was the No. 2 overall pick in the WNBA draft.
In a related note, Paige Bueckers, selected No. 1 overall by the Dallas Wings in the 2025 WNBA draft, went on to capture Rookie of the Year honors after posting averages of 19.2 points, 5.4 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game in her rookie season, according to team and league tallies.
The Lynx also announced that Napheesa Collier remains unavailable due to an ankle injury she suffered during last autumn’s postseason but is expected to return soon.
Wednesday night’s game against Connecticut (5-16) will present another opportunity for Minnesota head coach Cheryl Reeve to inch closer to a historic milestone. Reeve, along with Sun head coach Mike Thibault, currently sits at 379 regular-season wins, the most in WNBA history. The matchup provides a potential stepping stone for Reeve to break the record, contingent on the outcome and remaining games this season.
