Floyd Mayweather Denies Rumors That He’s Broke: ‘I Still Got Everything’

Floyd Mayweather is pushing back against the ongoing rumors about his finances. In a conversation with Cam’ron for It Is What It Is, the undefeated boxing legend addressed the chatter that his recent exhibition bouts and business dealings are punishments for financial trouble rather than simply a continuation of his career. When Cam’ron asked whether Mayweather’s latest moves inside and around the ring were motivated by money or by a desire to keep moving forward in the sport, Mayweather dismissed the notion that he’s facing financial hardship. “Nobody has taken none of my properties away from me,” he stated. “I still got all my houses, I still got everything.”
In addition to explaining his personal situation, Mayweather emphasized that his financial stability extends to his family and those who work for him. He noted that he continues to support his mother and the entire family, and that he still pays all of his employees. “My mother, my whole family, their bills are still paid. Still pay all my employees,” he said.
Reflecting on the loyalty he’s earned throughout his career, Mayweather acknowledged that fans have long invested in him because of his consistency inside the ring. “The Black community have been paying money for years to come see me fight,” he explained. “You bet it on Floyd ’cause I prove that I’m 100% when I get in that ring… They believe in me.” Yet he also pointed out a troubling dynamic, noting that some people, even after achieving success, hope to see him fail. “After they go home, and they got everything they won, they’re praying on my downfall,” Mayweather observed. “We don’t want to see Floyd win nothing.”
Addressing the lawsuits and other controversies that have generated headlines, Mayweather said his name attracts scrutiny largely due to his celebrity status. “It’s this lawsuit, it’s that lawsuit,” he said. “I get myself out of the situation… It’s not me. I’m the biggest name. Who they gon’ point the finger at?” He also revealed a deliberate detachment from much of the online discourse, explaining, “I ain’t got social media on my phone. I’m too focused on building generational wealth.”
He closed with a straightforward message for anyone doubting his financial health: “At the end of the day, I’m good.” These remarks come amid months of speculation about Mayweather’s finances, following reports of legal disputes and cancellations of exhibition fights. The former five-division world champion has consistently denied that money is driving his recent activities, insisting that his wealth and business empire remain intact.
