The Wildcats revealed the development via a post on their official club website this afternoon. Wilson has dedicated more than a decade to Durham, being part of the squad that competed in the inaugural FAWSL 2 season back in 2014. Over her lengthy tenure, the defender has accumulated 270 appearances for Durham in all competitions, with only teammate Beth Hepple having more appearances for the club. Wilson’s sustained presence has made her a true pioneer for Durham Women, and she remains a beloved figure among the fans. Her impact and leadership will continue to be felt as she signs a fresh contract, ensuring her ongoing contribution to the team.
After agreeing to remain at Maiden Castle, Wilson commented: “I’m delighted to sign a new contract with Durham after more than 12 years at the club. I’ve watched the club grow so much over the years, and I’m proud to have been part of that journey. I’m grateful for the faith the club has shown in me and I’m eager to give my all again this season. We have a fantastic group of players, staff, and supporters, and I’m excited about what we can achieve together. I can’t wait to get back out there and represent Durham once again.”
Durham will continue to share further squad updates in due course as they prepare for the upcoming campaign. This renewed commitment from Wilson underscores the club’s long-term ambitions and highlights the value placed on experience, loyalty, and leadership within the squad. The defender’s dedication mirrors the club’s vision to build a competitive team grounded in stability and continuity, aiming to make a positive impact across all competitions in the seasons ahead. Fans can look forward to seeing Wilson’s familiar presence back on the pitch as Durham pursues strong results, growth, and success in the near future.
