College football isn’t simply a smaller version of the pros. It has its own distinct style, culture, and a massive Saturday following. Now it’s about to get its own unique Yahoo Fantasy experience. Yahoo Sports is launching a new season-long college fantasy football game that reimagines the format to capture the excitement of the modern era. The game will feature players from the sport’s biggest programs, expanded rosters to accommodate a deep pool of talent, and a brand-new team “Offense” roster position that rewards today’s high-scoring offenses. This addition expands Yahoo Sports’ growing fantasy game lineup, which was named “Best Product Experience” by the Fantasy Sports & Gaming Association (FSGA) earlier this year.

In line with traditional fantasy football, Yahoo College Fantasy Football is a season-long competition with weekly head-to-head matchups. Drafts, trades, and waiver pickups function the same way, and the scoring system remains familiar. Yet the game includes several innovations tailored to the current college landscape:
– Players from powerhouse programs: Reflecting today’s conference realignment, fans can draft players from the Power 4 conferences (Big Ten, SEC, Big 12, ACC) plus Notre Dame. With a smaller pool of players, the game aims for a more balanced, competitive experience.
– Team Offense: For the first time in Yahoo Fantasy history, fans can start an “Offense” position that uses team-level aggregate scoring. You can draft an entire college team’s offense and earn points for touchdowns, total yards, field goals made, and wins, while losing points for turnovers and losses. This new position highlights the creativity and dynamism of contemporary college offenses.
– Expanded rosters: The game features a larger fantasy roster than traditional formats, increasing from the typical 15 players to 18. The transfer portal, NIL trends, and the growing depth of young talent mean there are more stars to draft and more strategic choices for managers.
College football fans live for Saturdays, and Yahoo College Fantasy Football is designed to heighten that excitement. “We built this game to capture everything that makes the sport so special, giving fans a whole new reason to cheer for every touchdown, celebrate every big play, and get even more invested in the teams and players they already love,” said Jarrod Schwarz, General Manager of Yahoo Sports.
This initiative is supported by Publicis Sports, the sports-focused division within Publicis Media Exchange (PMX). Publicis Sports clients will have exclusive access to new advertising and sponsorship opportunities within the Yahoo College Fantasy Football game. Coca-Cola has been integrated as the first brand to enhance SEO.
