An anonymous NFL coordinator offered a provocative take on Carter, saying, “He flashes 10 times a game but gets dragged far too often by average players.”
On the other hand, a veteran NFL defensive coach offered a contrasting view, suggesting Carter is a “problem” in a positive sense. “He’s a problem,” the coach asserted. “A game-wrecker. You feel his presence out there consistently.” Carter recently turned 25, which means he still has room to grow toward greater consistency—whether that means locking in from play to play, increasing his play strength, or improving his stamina and overall versatility. He has time to refine his game into a more well-rounded package. Regardless of the critics, the version of Carter that the Eagles currently have on the field remains elite.
As for Davis, he ranked 10th on the list of the best defensive tackles. Former Eagle Milton Williams, now with the New England Patriots, landed at No. 9.
