Sherrone Moore’s Mistress Drama Escalates As Former Employer Catches Lawsuit

The dust has not yet settled on Sherrone Moore’s legal ordeals. The former University of Michigan football coach steps back into the spotlight as his former mistress fights back. Paige Shiver, who was involved with Moore and whose involvement contributed to his termination, has launched a lawsuit that targets the university.
Sherrone Moore was dismissed from the Michigan program after it came to light that he had an affair with Paige Shiver, who was also a member of the staff at the time. Their relationship reportedly endured for more than two years and allegedly culminated in a pregnancy.
Now, Shiver appears poised to keep the confrontation with the University of Michigan alive as she intensifies her legal challenge. The university finds itself drawn into the dispute after Shiver filed a lawsuit alleging that it has refused to disclose records related to the investigation that preceded Moore’s firing. She contends that her requests for these materials have been repeatedly ignored, and she is seeking a court order to compel production.
In court filings dated Wednesday, July 8, Shiver asserts that she has repeatedly asked for all audio, video, and transcripts of interviews involving herself, Moore, and Michigan, but her requests were denied on the grounds of an ongoing investigation. She argues that the university’s handling of these records violates the Michigan Freedom of Information Act.
As reported by TMZ, the university allegedly rejected Shiver’s requests for materials connected to the probe that led to Moore’s termination. She says she renewed her requests last month, only to be told that they were “overly broad and vague.” Her suit further seeks communications such as emails between Moore and Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel that contain key terms related to the case, including “pregnancy,” “baby,” “abortion,” “discipline,” and “affair.” The university has deemed such materials “exempt information.”
Shiver also claims she contacted the university on two additional occasions to obtain meeting recordings and emails sent to Jenner & Block, the law firm engaged by Michigan for the matter, but these efforts were similarly unsuccessful. She further alleges discrimination on the basis of sex and accuses the university of fostering a hostile work environment during her tenure.
Shiver publicly disclosed months ago that her affair with the former coach had an element that resulted in pregnancy, a development that has continued to shape the ongoing legal and public narrative surrounding the case. The unfolding dispute raises broader questions about access to records, the handling of investigations within major university programs, and the treatment of employees who become entangled in high-profile conflicts.
