Miami Dolphins Discussion: Top Wide Receiver Edition

By admin — In News — July 10, 2026

If the Dolphins had kept their wide receiver corps from the 2025-2026 season intact, Jaylen Waddle would have likely been identified as the presumed WR1 for 2026-2027, with Tyreek Hill still in the process of recovering from his injury. But with both veterans no longer in the mix, the Dolphins’ wide receiver room looks markedly different as they head into the new season.
Here is the current roster snapshot as we approach training camp. Free Agent additions include Caleb Douglas, Chris Bell (who is expected to miss most or all of 2026 due to injury), Kevin Coleman Jr. Holdovers from the 2025-2026 roster feature Malik Washington and Tahj Washington. Additionally, several players have been signed to reserve/future contracts.
Of course, not every name listed above will crack the day-one active roster. Most NFL teams typically keep between five and six wide receivers on the active roster, with a small handful occasionally rotating seven. The Dolphins will also likely retain 2 to 4 receivers for the practice squad.
So, this evening’s Phinsider Question of the Day is: Who do you expect to emerge as Malik Willis’s top wide receiver target for the Dolphins in the 2026-2027 NFL season, and why? If you can’t choose between two players, please present both options and argue the case for each, possibly identifying the top pick and explaining why. Please share your thoughts and answers in the comments section below.
