Star Wisconsin Badgers alumni Cole Caufield has officially joined Joe Pavelski in the record book.. For the first time since 2014, the Badgers had a player named to the NHL Second All-Star team.. Caufield, who plays for the Montreal Canadians, was named to the second team alongside Nathan MacKinnon, David Pastranak, Rasmus Dahlin, Evan Bouchard, and Logan Thompson.. Advertisement. Wisconsin has produced plenty of NHL skaters, including Stanley Cup champions, but Caufield is coming off one of the greatest seasons in Badgers alumni history.. It’s been roughly 12 years since a former Badger has had a season this good, and it just so happened to be Pavelski who set that mark in 2014.. Even though Pavelski has retired, his name was recently brought up as a potential head coach candidate for a prestigious NHL franchise..
