Even though Wimbledon is deeply rooted in history and tradition, it, like any major sporting event, is also driven by money. It remains the second-most lucrative tennis tournament after the US Open, and its prize money has been climbing year after year. The total prize pool available to players in 2026 is £64.2 million ($86.1 million), more than £10 million higher than last year. The breakdown of payouts for each round in the men’s and women’s singles, along with the champion’s prize in the other events, is outlined below. The champions of the men’s and women’s singles at Wimbledon 2026 will each take home £3.6 million ($4.8 million), in addition to the iconic trophies. Even those who exit in the first round receive £80,000, which is roughly double the United Kingdom’s average annual salary.
Tennis fans will know that Wimbledon offers far more than just the singles events. Beyond the men’s and women’s singles, there are nine other events, each with its own prize structure. Here are the winning prizes for the individuals and teams across those additional events at The Championships.
