The match will be held at the Worthersee Stadion in Klagenfurt, Austria, a venue that seats up to 30,000 spectators and serves as the home ground for SK Austria Klagenfurt. This won’t be Real Madrid’s first trip to the Austrian city, which lies in the southern part of Austria near the Slovenian border. The club previously visited Klagenfurt during the 2021 pre-season, when they faced AC Milan in another summer friendly. Real Madrid also spent time in Austria last summer, beating WSG Tirol in Innsbruck as part of their preseason preparations.
This announcement marks the second confirmed pre-season friendly as Real Madrid begin their preparations for the upcoming campaign under Jose Mourinho. In addition to the match against Fiorentina, Los Blancos will take on newly promoted La Liga side Deportivo La Coruña in the Teresa Herrera Trophy on August 12. Reports indicate that the club has arranged a total of four friendly fixtures, split between Spain and other European destinations, with two matches confirmed at this stage. Club officials are also weighing the possibility of an additional behind-closed-doors match if Mourinho believes the squad requires more game minutes before the league campaign kicks off.
