Florida’s 2026-27 men’s basketball schedule became a touch clearer this week as the Gators announced they will host the Merrimack Warriors at the O’Connell Center on Friday, November 13, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports. This marks the second consecutive season that Florida and Merrimack meet on the college hardwood, following their clash in the O’Connell Center last November. Florida rolled to an 80-45 victory behind a dominant performance from Alex Condon, who posted a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds in 30 minutes of play.
The two programs have only met once prior to last season’s rematch, a December 5, 2023, win for the Orange and Blue in Gainesville, 77-57. In that game, Walter Clayton Jr. led Florida with 26 points, adding three rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and a steal. Condon also delivered a double-double, tallying 12 points and 16 rebounds, and his plus-minus of plus-27 on the night was the team’s standout figure.
Todd Golden and his group tip off the 2026-27 campaign on Monday, November 2, with a road contest against the Miami Hurricanes at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida—the very site that hosted their second-round NCAA Tournament exit to Iowa to cap last season. In addition to that early-season matchup, Florida has an assortment of notable non-conference tests lined up. The slate includes a meeting with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish as part of the Players Era Tournament in Las Vegas, plus six other potential opponents in that event. The Gators will also host the Duke Blue Devils on December 1, in a game that stands out as one of the marquee home dates on Florida’s schedule.
