Despite being involved in a wild kidnapping and robbery scheme, former Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold has four NFL teams showing interest in his services after his June release, including the champion Seattle Seahawks. NFL franchises have long demonstrated a willingness to give players second or even third chances if they believe a player can help them win games in the upcoming season. Arnold is the latest example, with four teams pursuing a contract, according to his agent, Nicole Lynn.
Terrion Arnold’s agent told a court hearing this morning that four teams had reached out about signing him. He had one visit this week and another scheduled for next week, Lynn said, adding that there is a “very good likelihood” he’ll sign within the next 45 days. A USA TODAY Network report via Reuters Connect noted that the Houston Texans were the team Arnold recently worked out for. The New York Jets, Indianapolis Colts, and Seattle Seahawks were identified as the other three teams expressing serious interest in signing the former first-round pick who is currently facing legal trouble.
Arnold was released by the Lions last month after his arrest in Tampa, Florida, on eight felony counts: four counts of robbery with a firearm or deadly weapon and four counts of kidnapping. Those charges could carry a life sentence in prison. The allegations stem from a February incident in which Arnold allegedly participated in a revenge kidnapping and robbery plot after he believed his Florida home had been robbed by the individuals he targeted earlier in the year. Arnold was the 24th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and started 22 games for the Lions over two seasons, recording 91 tackles, 10 passes defended, and one interception.
