On September 17, 2023, Lions fans were hopeful that Houston—who had lit up his 2022 rookie season with eight sacks—could rebound from a devastating ankle fracture that sidelined much of his 2023 campaign. Whether due to lingering injury effects or coaching decisions, Houston’s 2024 season didn’t pan out as hoped, and he was released after Week 12. Looking at his present trajectory, Houston has experienced a solid career resurgence. In the 2025 season with the Cowboys, he appeared in 17 games and posted 5.5 sacks. He remains under contract through 2026 with Dallas.
Shifting focus to the 6th-round rookie, he missed the first half of the season due to infectious mononucleosis. Once he returned, he quickly climbed the depth chart, cementing himself as the primary offensive line backup by December. Today, his trajectory looks promising. Mahogany has enjoyed a strong early career arc, becoming the left guard starter in 2025. He did miss six games due to a fibula fracture but has fully recovered and is the favorite to start at left guard again in 2026.
