Before the quarterfinals began, we invited you to choose which team you’d root for for the remainder of the tournament now that the USMNT is out, as part of SB Nation’s World Cup Reacts collaboration with FanDuel. The response crowned a clear favorite: Norway led the pack with 53% of the vote as the crowd’s top pick to win it all. England, slated to play tomorrow, trailed in second with 12%.
Morocco, who fell to France on Thursday, came in third with 9% of the vote, tied with Lionel Messi and Argentina. Kylian Mbappé and France earned 8%, while Spain collected 6% in the voting. Belgium, eliminated by Spain, and Switzerland, who face the daunting task of knocking off defending champions, did not receive much support.
