Barcelona set medical and presentation date for new signing Karim Adeyemi – report

Barcelona are in the final stages of securing one of the club’s most significant summer arrivals, with Karim Adeyemi’s transfer to Catalonia approaching completion. After reaching a full agreement with Borussia Dortmund, the Blaugrana are preparing to welcome the German international for medical tests before he is officially introduced as the latest addition to Hansi Flick’s squad.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Adeyemi is set to undergo his medical on Wednesday, July 15, with Barcelona planning to reveal their new signing the following day. This sequence signals that the transfer is now in its concluding phase, with the remaining steps focused on the final formalities before Adeyemi is officially announced as a Barcelona player.
Terms of the deal between Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund have already been settled after weeks of negotiations. The transfer is valued at €22 million in guaranteed payments, with the potential to rise by up to €9 million through performance-related bonuses. While Barcelona managed to keep the base fee relatively controlled, Dortmund secured a key clause of their own: they will retain 35% of any future transfer fee, ensuring they benefit if Adeyemi moves on to another major club later in his career.
Adeyemi has also agreed to personal terms on a contract that runs until June 2031, binding his long-term future to the club. The 24-year-old German forward is set to sign a five-year contract with Barcelona.
With the principal elements of the deal already resolved, the focus now shifts to the administrative steps required to finalize the transfer. Adeyemi is expected to arrive in Barcelona next week to complete the standard medical examinations that precede the formal signing. Once those tests are completed, the forward will ink a five-year contract and be presented to the fans and media at Spotify Camp Nou on July 16, according to Di Marzio. As a result, Adeyemi will receive a fixed net salary of €6 million per season, a reflection of Barcelona’s belief that he can become a cornerstone of Flick’s attacking system.
Barcelona’s pursuit of Adeyemi signals the club’s ambition to bolster their attacking options ahead of a demanding campaign. The deal positions the Catalan side to add a dynamic, pacey forward who can stretch defenses and complement the squad’s tactical plans under Flick. If the medicals go smoothly and the formalities are completed as planned, Adeyemi will soon join the club’s ranks and begin preparing for the upcoming season as a central piece in Barcelona’s forward line. This acquisition underscores Barcelona’s strategy of securing promising young talents with long-term potential while balancing immediate impact and future resale value.
