Could Kelechi Iheanacho and Marcelo Saracchi be on their way back to Celtic? Meanwhile, Rangers are reportedly closing in on Cammy Devlin after his exit from Hearts. Celtic boss Martin O’Neill has stated that the club’s chief executive Michael Nicholson “has spoken to” the agent of striker Kelechi Iheanacho, and the same dialogue is happening with left-back Marcelo Saracchi, both of whom spent time in Glasgow last season and have been linked with a potential return. In other news, Boca Juniors have put Uruguay international Saracchi, 28, up for sale. However, O’Neill would not be drawn on speculative Celtic interest in Reims midfielder Mory Gbane, 25. Aberdeen, meanwhile, received more than £1 million from Odense for winger Topi Keskinen, 23, and are forecast to make a substantial profit on the Finland international.
Rangers are also eyeing Jens Hjerto-Dahl and will permit his departure from Tromsø for the right price, according to head coach Jørgen Vik. Gossip circulating this weekend suggests Salah’s possible move to Saudi Arabia could be in doubt, while Devlin continues to attract interest from Rangers as well—news surrounding the 28-year-old Australian midfielder, who has just left Hearts. Rangers may be stepping up their pursuit of the free agent, who has left Hearts, with confirmation of his departure prompting interest from several sides. Devlin has publicly thanked Hearts supporters and bid farewell following the club’s announcement.
Meanwhile, Dundee’s head coach Steven Pressley revealed that the club remains in the market for five or six more players. Hearts’ squad are focused on securing as much game time as possible ahead of their Champions League qualifying tie with Sturm Graz, according to new head coach Wouter Vrancken. Will Ferry has been described by manager Jim Goodwin as having earned the right to explore all options after Dundee United accepted a bid from a Czech club for the Republic of Ireland international, 25. Former Easter Road player Liam Fontaine has also backed fellow defender Jason Kerr to shine at Hibernian, adding to the transfer chatter surrounding Scottish football.
