Tracking Tennessee baseball players, signees picked in 2026 MLB Draft

By admin — In News — July 11, 2026

The 2026 MLB Draft is shaping up to be another busy event for Tennessee baseball, with a familiar pattern likely to continue. Since 2018, Tennessee has consistently seen at least three players selected in the draft each year, and that trend appears poised to persist this year as well. Leading the charge is starting pitcher Tegan Kuhns, who is projected as a first-round pick. In addition, infielders Henry Ford, catcher/outfielder Garrett Wright, and reliever Bo Rhudy have earned recognition on MLB.com’s list of the top 250 prospects, underscoring the Vols’ depth of talent.
Beyond those names, the program features potential top-20 selections Jared Grindlinger and Trevor Condon, who highlight a highly regarded recruiting class that includes 11 invitees to the draft combine. The class also includes several players who were drafted out of high school, who will face the choice of turning professional or continuing their education and playing college baseball.
This season’s draft timeline runs over two days, July 11-12. On the first day, rounds 1 through 4 begin at 1 p.m. ET, with NBC and Peacock carrying coverage of the first 10 picks, while the remainder of round coverage will be shown on MLB Network and MLB.com. The second day covers rounds 5 through 20 and begins at 11:30 a.m., with coverage available on MLB.com. Once drafted, players have until July 27 at 5 p.m. to sign contracts. For those who go undrafted but still want to pursue professional opportunities, free-agent signings remain possible up until the fall semester starts.
Stay tuned, as updates will continue to roll in throughout the spring and summer. This report will be refreshed as more Tennessee players and signees are identified and as draft results come in.
