Julia Bartel is a fresh addition to Juventus, signing a contract that runs through June 30, 2029. The 22-year-old Spanish midfielder has joined the Bianconere with a clear sense of purpose, and she has spoken publicly for the first time since the move. “I’m really happy to be here. Juventus is a fantastic club, respected both in Italy and across Europe, and the project they’re pursuing is what attracted me to the team. The club’s ambitions align with my own, which is why I made this choice. I believe it’s the best step for my career.”
Discussing her mindset and goals, Bartel emphasized her commitment to continuous improvement. “I work hard every day to try to improve in every aspect and always give that little bit extra. I’m confident I’ll settle in well, both regarding the playing system and the team’s characteristics. As I mentioned, the club’s project fits perfectly with what I’m seeking at this stage of my career. Juventus is an ambitious club that aims to win trophies and compete at the highest level in Europe, and that’s exactly what convinced me.”
On adapting to life in Italy and pursuing collective objectives, Bartel outlined her priorities. “First of all, I’ll need to settle into life in a new country. As for our goals, Juventus is aiming high: we want to win trophies and compete in Europe. At the team level, those are the main objectives, along with getting to know my teammates better, spending time with them, and building team spirit day by day. Personally, I want to help the club and the squad in every possible way while continuing to develop as a footballer.”
Exploring her playing style and influences, Bartel described herself as a creative midfielder who relishes being at the heart of the action. “I really enjoy linking up with my teammates, pressing forward, and maintaining possession. Having the ball is my favorite part of the pitch. If I had to name role models, I’d choose Aitana Bonmatí, Alexia Putellas, and Patri Guijarro. They’re true idols for me; players I draw inspiration from when I play.”
Bartel also highlighted the value of Juventus’ locker room diversity. “I know there are both seasoned veterans and younger talents in the squad. I believe we younger players have a great opportunity to learn from those with more experience; they have so much to teach us. For my part, as I’ve said, the aim is to give my all to help the team in every way possible and, above all, to achieve together the goals the club has set.”
