2027 NFL Mock Draft: CJ Carr, Drew Mestemaker Join Arch Manning, Dante Moore in Top 4

The start of the 2026 college football season is now less than two months away. Before you know it, draft prospects will be under the microscope as we evaluate a potential class that could go down as one for the ages. The 2027 NFL Draft class features a myriad of talented quarterbacks who will dominate discussions this fall, but the class is also stacked at several other positions. Using PFN’s NFL Mock Draft Simulator, let’s project what each team might do in the first round.
In what is arguably the strongest division in football, the Arizona Cardinals could endure a challenging year. Landing Arch Manning with the first overall pick would give them a real chance to rebuild and compete. As a first-year starter in 2025, Manning faced some adversity in the early part of Texas’ season. Yet, with more experience, he improved and performed at a high level in the latter half of the year. He demonstrated elite talent and the ability to win with both his arm and his legs. The expectation is that Manning will build on what he showed at the end of last season. If so, he should be a lock to be the first overall pick.
The Miami Dolphins have several roster concerns. If they land the No. 2 overall pick in next year’s draft, passing on Dante Moore could be difficult. Moore chose to bypass the 2026 NFL Draft to gain another year of starting experience in college, which should leave him ready to contribute as a rookie. As a draft prospect, Moore has a quick release and accuracy both in the pocket and on the move. He could be the Dolphins’ long-term answer under center.
The New York Jets appear positioned to select a quarterback in the 2027 NFL Draft. With Manning and Moore off the board in this scenario, CJ Carr of Notre Dame could be the pick. Carr was another first-year starter in 2025 who played at a high level. With Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price no longer in the roster, the onus will be on Carr this season. He reportedly put on a strong showing at the Manning Passing Academy recently. Expect a significant jump from Carr this fall that could elevate him into a top draft position.
If the Cleveland Browns secure the No. 4 overall pick, they might also consider a quarterback. Drew Mestemaker transferred to Oklahoma State this offseason, and he possesses considerable upside that could push him into the early rounds. Mestemaker has a strong arm and mobility, and he delivered some extraordinary throws on the move last season at North Texas. Now, he will need to demonstrate that he can translate that play against tougher competition in the Big 12. Having his top North Texas receiver, Wyatt Young, transfer with him should help Mestemaker prepare for a successful 2026 season.
The Las Vegas Raiders will need to invest in their offense to support their quarterback and improve the team’s overall efficiency. This year’s projection suggests a focus on developing a high-potential quarterback early in the first round, recognizing the long-term value of stabilizing the most important position on the field.
